A Truly Unique Ring: Rupert and Maisie’s Engagement Story

image

Inspired by Friends, Guided by Craftsmanship

When Rupert began his search for an engagement ring, he knew he wanted something that felt truly special – a one-of-a-kind piece that would reflect the significance of the moment. Having grown up in Ditchling, Pruden and Smith had always been familiar to him. He often admired the jewellery in the windows while passing through the village, and when it came time to find a ring, it felt like a natural place to turn.

Having seen several friends' engagement rings that had been designed and made by Pruden and Smith, Rupert already had a strong sense of the craftsmanship and attention to detail that set each piece apart. The individuality and thoughtfulness of those designs made choosing to work with us an easy decision.

Designing Something Personal

Despite being confident in his decision to work with us, Rupert felt a little nervous at the start of the design process. He told us:

“I only had a rough idea of what I wanted, which made the whole thing feel a bit daunting. But sitting down with Bec really helped. She listened so carefully, sketched out ideas so we could both visualise the ring, and explained the design decisions that would ensure it was both beautiful and durable. I came away feeling completely reassured – and the final result confirmed that I was in very safe hands.”

A Ring with History

What made the ring even more meaningful was a deeply personal touch Rupert had planned from the beginning. Maisie had been left a ring by her late Aunt Charlotte, someone she had been especially close to, and Rupert was keen to incorporate that connection into the engagement ring. Working with Bec, they carefully embedded the stones from Charlotte’s ring into the new design, giving them a new life in a piece Maisie would wear every day. It was an incredibly special moment for them both, and one that added a lasting emotional depth to an already thoughtful and personal design.

A Moment to Remember

The proposal itself was intimate and full of meaning. And the ring? A perfect symbol of their story. They shared:

“We’re both so pleased with Maisie’s ring – it’s stunning and totally unique. The care and attention Bec and the entire team put into the process made getting engaged even more memorable than we imagined.”
